Meet Shawna
I've been interested in psychology and human behavior for as long as I can remember. I worked in the arts, education and the corporate sector before returning to school for a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling. I graduated from Argosy University in Sarasota, Florida with highest honors in 2011.
I have provided mental health services in Pinellas County for over fifteen years and became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida in 2013. My work experiences have been diverse, including inpatient psychiatric, medical hospital and community mental health settings. I have experience working with individuals impacted by chemical dependency. I have assisted parents who were in the process of family reunification after children were removed from their care. In 2015, I began work with as a medical case manager for a health plan and eventually became a Board-Certified Case Manager by the Commission for Case Management Certification. My work in the health field has shaped my view of how the physical body and the human psyche are inextricably intertwined. I now focus fully on private practice therapy for individuals and couples.

A Little More About Me
I’ve been a dog lover since I was a toddler—so far, I’ve never met a dog I didn’t like!
I love music and live theatre, and spent years performing before life shifted my focus to parenting, teaching, and therapy.
I love to travel—Italy, Scotland, Albania, and Canada are a few favorite places I’ve explored.
I have a fascination for waterfalls and could watch and listen to them for hours.
Yoga regulates my mind and heals my body. I’m a huge fan of it.
You’ll often find me listening to audiobooks or watching YouTube videos about psychology and human potential.
